People who are impervious to reason

I don't do political stuff on this blog very often. But I can't help it today I'm so angry about the climate of hysteria created by the servants of rich to forestall helping dying people get medical care. I find it hilarious that they think forcing you to buy insurance is unconstitutional and wrong because the Republican governor in Texas (Texas is one of the state's whose  Attorney general is filing suit agaisnt the health care plan) has been making people buy auto insurance for years.

I call republican headquarters and I asked them when will they opposed the requirement to buy auto insurance. The guy didn't understand what I was talking about so I explained it. He said "Yes that's what it's going to come to, Obama is going to make us buy auto insurance." I said Well the republican governor Rich Perry has already done that in Texas, he said "O not that was the Democrats way back." Wrong dozie pron!

There were laws about requiring basic liability since way back but the summer I moved into this house ('08) they passage a law saying that if you don't have insurance they will tow your car away, that was a republican imitative.

Next time: back to theology.

Sadly, we're going to be hearing all the lies, obfuscation, and hyperbole for the entire election cycle.

Hi Metacrock, long time since I've read this blog.

There are a number of reasons for the current political climate, but here's one thing that I think happens far too often:

We are all taught to question our sources of information, and often times a specific event causes us to question those sources (such as the mainstream media) on our own. However, a good number of people take away the wrong lesson: instead of being savvy at mainstream sources, they reject the mainstream altogether. Then they find their own sources, which are usually very partisan or ideological, and believe every word of what they read and hear.

That, in my view, is how malicious rumors are spread so quickly and are so hard to dispel.

now you are speaking in tautologies. you did say "election cycle," and and lies in the same sentence.

may be but I think it's more than that. The one dimensional middle class sees its dream evaporating, since they can't join in and work for a better society (because they believe all that BS bootstrap stuff) they are more willing to serve the interests of the rich hoping that will someone give them an "in."

I'm suprised by old (literally) Republicans outraged by the health care plan. Have their eyes been closed to the world? Is it not their peers that are having to choose between food and medication...are they not the ones losing their life savings to end of life medical bills? The new law will cut the cost of their prescriptions in half and will nullify previous ceiling limits to care offered by insurance companies. These changes needed to happen. Also, do they not have family members who have been denied coverage because of previous existing medical conditions. The health care system as we now know it is warped. When the changes take full effect in 2014 it won't be perfect, but will be far more equitable for hard-working americans.

I know that's what it's so hysterical. Because if we don't do something health care system will bankrupt the whole country.

the Republicans are servants of the rich. That's why their party exits and that's all they care about. No lie is too false and no harm too great to inflict upon a political enemy because what is at steak for them is their power, and that's what they worship.

they don't care about their own guys. They serve the rich in hopes that someday they will be among the rich.
