I made a comment, but it was automatically declined. It was about Mark Passio and what he said about atheism (that it is childish, and it is destroying human freedom).

Joseph Hinman (Metacrock) said...

I did not decline it

OK. Must have been the host of the group. I posted it again, but it was declined again.

to me

Here was the comment I tried to make:

Gibbs McGuire is another example of what Mark Passio has been said about Atheism: That it is a childish ideology that is destroying human freedom.

Joseph Hinman (Metacrock) said...

I think there some atheists who fit that statement but not all do.

I visited that Facebook page and tried to comment too. It was declined with a message that you can't comment for the first 3 days after you "join." I suspect that's what you ran into last week, Joe. Am I the only one who got that message?

Joseph Hinman (Metacrock) said...

I don't have a page on face book

I don't know why my comment above came out as being from "Anonymous." I'm talking about the page -- not your page -- on Facebook that is called something like "Christians vs. Atheists Discussion." I tried to post a comment there but was declined. I'm almost certain that it was there that you tried to post a comment last week, and you were declined. You are able to comment there now: I saw and read some of your comments and the fairly obtuse responses by the guy you are talking about here on this blog post.

At least I think it's the same guy....

these are the guys that make you wait three days before you can post. It's really stupid all the guys on that page are dunces.

There is that group, and there is another group (Christians vs Atheists debate group):

Facebook: Christians VS Atheists Debate Group

I was thinking about joining, but if the people are that stupid, is it worth it?

Oh, geez. Here is a "great" comment by an atheist:

So it is by my carefully considering what Nature CLEARLY reveals, that i have, over six decades, come to the consistently logical conclusion that the Universe as we know it, and us as humans, are the result of a great NATURAL process, of which we will NEVER be able to determine any beginning or end of it....

But our human brain has developed and adapted over millennia to the challenges of survival in harsh environments full of dangers, and so we gradually developed tools and SYSTEMS of order to safeguard and continue our lives, and the most powerful feature of our brain is IMAGINATION, from which comes all of our inventions, social systems and modern civilization....

It is human IMAGINATION, and NOT the Natural World, that many ancient humans, inspired by their dreams and "visions", had decided to fully commit to, first with parents in the form of Moral Fables for children, and then monotheistic and polytheistic Legends and Mythologies, which eventually evolved into our modern global Religions, all different and inconsistent with each other, and continually imposed and defended by wars, with the continual horrors of endless violence and vengeance as the result....

Thus, there will ALWAYS be many who, using their IMAGINATION, believe in the existence of INVISIBLE supernatural characters- 'gods', 'devils', 'spirits', 'angels', 'elfs', 'demons', 'imps', 'fairies', 'trolls', 'ogres', etc....or believe that the progeny of 'Adam and Eve', without the NATURAL population-regulation function of Death, would not eventually over-populate a plant-barren Earth to TRILLIONS of hungry people, to the point of extinction of ALL human life by global starvation....or believe that a number of natural disasters, rescues of people and animals, and natural healings are 'divine miracles !'....

And THAT is why Atheism is now, logically and rightfully, the fastest growing belief system in the World. Agnostics are the undecided fence-sitters, STILL secretly fearful of a 'possible' angry deity and his 'Hell' they grew up believing, and STILL secretly desiring that longed-for 'Golden Carrot' in the sky- "Heaven" and an endless 'afterlife'....

Hopefully, many more will finally WAKE UP to the Natural Enlightenment of the Mind, and with their IMAGINATION finally begin to make a personal effort toward promoting a Better World for All People and Life on Earth. A good inspiration and reminder for us all would be to again listen to the song by a man who truly wanted that- "Imagine".

Joseph Hinman (Metacrock) said...

there is no evidence that proves there's no God. The worlds is made up of natural processes. You Yourself admit we don't know where those come from; God is a more logical thesis for that position. More natural processes do not answer the question about the origin of such processes.

The fact that people have imagination is not proof that God is only imagination, The data on the religious experience argumemt proves God is not merely imagination, That data is backed by 200 peer reviewed studies.

JAB128 said...

Exactly. Also, I love the last paragraph, where they basically say that atheism can make a better world. That is such a joke. It is a childish ideology.

Joseph Hinman (Metacrock) said...

I think you are right about that
