I could not live with so much Calvin likeness. I took it over. This time I answer basically the same way but paid a bit more attention to a couple of things. It should not have I was like Calvin becasue I did say salvation is open to all. That should have booted Calvin out there.
Guess who I'm like this time around?

You Scored as Paul Tillich
Paul Tillich sought to express Christian truth in an existentialist way. Our primary problem is alienation from the ground of our being, so that our life is meaningless. Great for psychotherapy, but no longer very influential.

for some reason it wont put the image through.
So if you're more like Calvin, why are you bothering trying to convince aetheists God exists? ;-)
ReplyDeleteI am not like Calvin at all. That's why I'm screaming.
ReplyDeleteI always knew you were a Calvinist! :-P
ReplyDeleteyou were predestined to say that.
ReplyDeleteAs were you!
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of fond of Calvin... ;-)
ReplyDeleteI can't retrieve the quiz to learn who I am.
ReplyDeleteThat said, Tillich wasn't that far down for you, here was number 3, right after Calvin at number 2, and Anslem is number 1.
Granted, Tillich is 7% lower than Calvin, but only 7%.
So it snot that dire, and Schleiermacher is number 4.
And nothign wrong with Anslem.
I got this (with ambiguity on a few questions)...

Tiny Schleiermacher is a good guess for you. If you asked me I would have said Tillich. But Schleiermacher makes sense too as they share some common features. Tilliched liked him.
ReplyDeleteyou have some Finney, 40% I would not have suspected that.
I finally took the test. My results are as follows.

Not too bad a match for me.
Well, it depends on how they weighed the questions. I think some options may have had some implied connotations beyond just the literal statement being made. For example, maybe he agreed with me on some question I see as having little relevance but was central to some other major theme of his. I mean with that limited number of questions there is bound to be some arbitrary similarity, which is probably why you had Calvin so high on your first list. For example, Hitler and I may have both liked ice cream as kids, but that doesn't say anything about our views on the problems afflicting Germany after its defeat in the first World War.
ReplyDeleteWhat, no Pannenberg?
ReplyDeleteGlad I found this site. If you like Tillich better than Calvin, I may have found kindred spirits.
Calvin is my arche nemesis. Tillich is one of my favorites. I like Pannenberg too, but I guess I don't use as many of his buzz words. Or the best doesn't know about him.
ReplyDeleteglad to meet you. Are you the one who was arguing with Loftus on DC? I was trying to find your email to contract you.
welcome to the group. I have messages too and we have a really good community with smart atheists and smart Christians. just look for the link on the blog.
Yes. I am Sophie's Ladder. I've already linked your blog to my roll, and I'm exploring the links on your roll. I am looking forward to meeting the entire group.
ReplyDeleteI have learned a lot from Tillich's Systematic Theology, but I actually like his sermons (The New Being, The Shaking of the Foundations, The Eternal Now) better. I take from each philosopher / theologian what I like and leave the rest. I try to follow the Spirit wherever it leads.e
good I look forward to seeing you on the board.
ReplyDeletehow about that character assassination by the DC crowd. Man those guys are shameful. they are just propagandists.
Like I told Loftus, they begin the ad hominem attacks when they know they can't refute you. That's rational discourse?
ReplyDeleteYour just sayign that because your a stupid Christian who doens't know anything cos your irraitonal andbeleiv ein giant magic sky men.
ReplyDelete(This is sarcasm.)
yea, I got that.
