It's not...I wasn't comparing him to a Nazi. It's not too far fetched to compare to Brown shirts and Crystal night the early stuff. The thug based stuff.Joseph Hinman (Metacrock)https://www.blogger.com/profile/06957529748541493998noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11516215.post-56189717348348144742016-03-07T17:22:55.815-08:002016-03-07T17:22:55.815-08:00Well, for one thing the Bible doesn't say pove...Well, for one thing the Bible doesn't say poverty is a state to be avoided; it says it is a state to be helped by people who have more. The "show no favoritism" passage I think he's referring to is in James, and it definitely is talking about not showing favoritism to the rich. We don't need admonitions about not showing favoritism to the poor! Human beings don't do that, and never have.

Paul in Galatians 1 talks about how his priority, and the priority of the whole early church, was helping the poor. It certainly wasn't about trying to get rich!

As far as Trump is concerned-- I think it's always too inflammatory to compare anyone to a Nazi. All that does is cause flames and derails any real dialogue. But Trump's so-called policies are un-Christian, certainly. Kristenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08252374623355509404noreply@blogger.com
